Review | Tangle Angel Professional Detangling Brush

Hey there lovely ladies! Hope you're all well. If you follow me on Twitter then you'll know that I was lucky enough to attend the Professional Beauty show at London ExCel yesterday - I had the most amazing time and picked up bags and bags full of stuff. I've planned to do a little haul in the next few days to show you all what I managed to get my hands on and more about the day itself, but until then I had to show you one of my favourite purchases and tell you all how in love with it I am. 

 

Up until yesterday I hadn't actually heard of Richard Ward as a haircare brand (slaps wrists) which is weird as I'm sure you may have gathered I'm quite the haircare whore. I somehow own a collection of hairbrushes ranging from grooming brushes for up-do's to tail combs for styling. At first glance from the back this looked like a regular hair brush, but it turns out it's a brush with the same concept as the infamous 'Tangle Teezer' only larger with a handle and of course the gorgeous design of angel wings on the back. Don't get me wrong, I do love my trusty Tangle Teezer but felt that this had my name written all over it. As it was trade prices and VAT free, I picked this beauty up for only £10.00 which saved me £4.99 in total. Considering Tangle Teezers range from £10-12, I reckon I picked up a bargain. 

 

 

It's a no brainer I instantly fell in love with the look of the brush - anything boasting Victoria's Secret-esque angel wings in pink is a winner to me. I love the metallic finish of the brush, and because it isn't paint there's no need to worry about it chipping. The heart shape of the actual bristles also add a really girly touch, and the fact there's also a handle attached to the base makes it alot easier to use than your average Tangle Teezer. On the back of the box, it claims that the brush has anti-bacterial properties for hygienic use, boasts heat resistant bristles along with anti-static technology and can stand upright to maintain storage space - what's not to love?! When I wear my hair extensions, I need to brush them through during the day to keep them looking smooth and sleek, and this brush really does work wonders. I've had this only a day but I'm already in love with it and genuinely notice a difference in the look and feel of my hair when I've used it. It's not the most compact brush for on the go but it looks lovely standing up on my dressing table. I haven't yet tried this as a blow dry brush which it says it's also ideal for, but when I do I'll update you with my opinions!

January Wishlist

Hello :) Hope you're all great and you're well into your New Years resolutions (read my post here on all of my resolutions). One of mine was to loose a total of two stone within the year and I already have an update for you which I can hardly believe myself. Within one week of my diet and exercise regime I have lost seven pounds, the equivalent to half a stone. I really cannot believe it and I weighed myself three times just to be sure! I was thinking of doing a full post on my diet and fitness as at this time of year it's very fitting, so if you're interested then let me know by commenting below. In the meantime, darker evenings mean no time to take decent blog photos with decent lighting, so I've put together a list of things I'm currently lusting over!

1. Muji Acrylic Storage Drawers

I'm probably one of the last bloggers to have purchased these! Well, it certainly feels like it. I am beyond excited for mine to arrive so I can organise all of my make-up bits and I've also ordered the matching acrylic pen pot to store all of my make-up brushes next to the drawers. 

2. Lush Cupcake Face Mask

Another popular item among the blogging community! I've used this in the past and I absolutely loved it, of course the smell was amazing. I really love a bit of pamper time and this would be perfect to apply when I sit back in a bath of bubbles to relax.

3. Soap & Glory Hocus Pocus 

I won't ramble on about how much I'm loving S&G products at the moment, but to complete my skincare collection I need this lotion! It's sold out in the smaller Boots near my house so I'm off to the larger one tomorrow to pick one up. I've used this in the past and loved it!

4. Leopard Print Tangle Teezer

I've committed the ultimate crime and lost my beloved pink tangle teezer! Majorly gutted. But on the bright side, it gives me an excuse to go and buy a brand new one but instead of pink I've been eyeing up this cute leopard print one.

5. Real Techniques Powder Brush

Another Real Techniques brush I need to add to my collection! I use powder everyday to set my foundation so it makes sense to invest in a good brush a lot of bloggers swear by. I'm in love with my stippling brush so hope this is just as good.

6. MAC Mineralise Skin Finish Powder

I may shock a few of you here, but I've never tried a skin finish product from MAC! I rely on my trusty Rimmel 'Stay Matte' powder but am always open to try new things, hence I'm off to pick this beauty up on the weekend!

Review: L'Oreal Elvive Triple Resist Shampoo & Conditioner

Hello Girls! If you're a regular reader of my blog then you'll know I have a naughty habit of buying unecessary haircare products on a regular basis. Last week I shared a mini haul (read it here) which featured L'Oreals new range of shampoo and conditioner, Triple Resist. Being a girl who has put her hair through hell and back over the years, having a brand that repairs damage is so important. I pretty much tend to stick to a shampoo if I find one I particularly like, and having used this for just over a week, I have found my new absolute favourite shampoo and conditioner. 

In all fairness I find that if I spend a little more on haircare then I get a better result - who can resist a bit of product advertised by Cheryl Cole and Jennifer Lopez?! I bought the 400ml of both the shampoo and conditioner just to last me a bit longer than the standard 200ml, and it set me back £3.99 each from Boots. L'Oreal claims that it reinforces hair fibre, nourishes the hair from root to tip and that hair feels stronger and so far I have noticed a difference in the general condition of my hair. It's ideal if you fnd that your hair falls out or breaks. It lathers up like a dream and a little really does go a long way with the shampoo, so a small amount does the job. They both smell absolutely amazing,  really fresh and clean. The conditioner leaves the ends of my hair feeling really soft and silky and if you're hair hasn't gone through as much wear and tear as mine, then you probably don't need a hair oil before blow drying. 

I'm dying to try the Triple Resist Reinforcing Treatment as I've heard nothing but great things about it. The shampoo and conditioner has replaced my beloved John Freida Brilliant Brunette range, so I'm hoping for great things from the treatment. Of course I will report back.

Review: Foxy Locks Hair Extensions

Hello girls, something which has definitely cheered me up from this awful repulsive weather was my delivery of Foxy Locks hair extensions on Wednesday morning. I am a great lover of hair extensions, they not only make your hair longer, but also add so much volume and texture too. Having tried all types of hair extensions from bonded to weaved and back, I have come to the conclusion that clip in hair extensions are by far the best. Yes, they can sometimes be a pain to have to clip in and out but they don't damage your natural hair and can look just as great. I have tried Foxy Locks in the past and I absolutely loved them, they are by far the best I have tried, and having tried countless brands I'm sure I have the ability to be a good judge of quality! These are my second set of Foxy Locks as you need to replace hair extensions every so often once they look a bit worse for wear, however my previous set lasted me a good eight or nine months which in extension world is fantastic.

I ordered mine from the website (http://foxylocksextensions.com/) on Thursday night and they arrived first thing on Monday morning. A four day wait is pretty standard and I love the pink packaging it came in. Like a kid on Christmas Eve I opened my package and was so excited to have a new set of hair extensions. I ordered the 160g 20" in Darkest Brown and it was a perfect colour match to my hair. 

Hair - The hair used is 100% human Remy hair, which means that the hair cuticle runs downwards and prevents matting and damage to the hair. You can treat the hair as if it were our own. You can dye them, straighten them, curl them, everything. Remy hair is known to best the best quality hair on the market and Foxy Locks hair looks so natural compared to other hair extension brands.

Colour - It can be daunting for some people to choose the colour of extensions which is best for them. Imogen who overlooks Foxy Locks offers a colour match service if you are worried about choosing a colour over the internet. There are also some videos on her YouTube channel which offers advice about the colour which is best for you. 

Thickness - I ordered the Deluxe set which weighs 160g. This basically means that there is more hair on the hair weft than a standard set of extensions, and there is alot of thickness to them. There is an option to choose between a Regular set (120g), a Deluxe set (160g) or a Superior set (215g). Because I have layers in my hair the deluxe set was perfect for my hair type.

Clips - When I've used other hair extensions in the past, the clips have been weak and have even snapped. Foxy Locks have the most durable clips I've used, and the silicone strip on the base of the clip means that your natural hair doesn't snap against the metal and the plastic.

Price - Unlike other methods of using hair extensions, the Deluxe set of hair extensions set me back only £74.00 which is a reasonable price. Of course, depending on the thickness of the hair extensions you will pay more or less. The regular set cost £56.00 and the deluxe cost £118.00 (This doesn't include postage and packaging).

Length - The key to hair extensions is making them look natural. Foxy Locks currently only offers 20" hair extensions, but I personally think that is an ideal length. I used to wear 22" or sometimes even 24" extensions and I admit I did love them, but 20" is just fine and a perfect length for most people. 

Durability - Like I mentioned, my previous set of Foxy Locks extensions lasted me a good eight or nine months. With other brands I've had to replace mine every three months which isn't ideal if you are a struggling student like me. Providing you take care of them, extensions can last up to a year. I may write a blog post on how to look after hair extensions in the future so look out for that!

How To Grow Your Hair

Hi Girls! Hope you're all well and the sudden cold weather isn't getting you under the weather to much, excuse the pun. Being a true girly girl and having had my fair share of hair cut and colour disasters, I know just how frustrating it is to grow your hair long and healthy. It times time, commitment and above all patience. At the moment, my hair is quite short and sits about two inches below my shoulders without hair extensions, but it used to sit about an inch above my waist. I decided to cut it all off to start again, and it grows pretty quickly now that I've followed what is below. Please consider that this is what works for me, and it may not work for you. So get comfy and grab yourself a cup of tea, it's quite a lengthy post!

♥ Lee Stafford Hair Growth Shampoo and Treatment - I have raved continuously about the hair growth treatment from Lee Stafford, it is one of those products I would never leave out of my hair routine. Providing you use it every time you wash and condition your hair, and massage it into the scalp for long enough you wil see a difference. It nourishes the hair from the root which makes way for healthy and quicker hair growth. You can read my full review by clicking here. The shampoo is a great way to speed up the process also, and I feel as though I'm putting double the effort into growing my hair.

♥ Holland and Barrett Sea Kelp Tablets - If you're more of a girl who likes to use beauty supplement tablets to see a difference, these do the trick. Sea kelp is full of natural ingredients which strengthen the hair follicle and promote healthy growth. I take mine twice a day, and although it tends to make hair greasier more quickly, I have noticed a difference while using it. I picked up mine from Holland and Barrett in their legendary penny sale for £10.80 so got 1000 tablets which would last me a good while!

♥ Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends Intensive Hair Mask - Every week I treat myself to a hair mask and bounce between this and Aussies legendary 3 minute miracle. This repairs split ends which makes hair more manageable and more likely to grow. Not to mention is smells absolutely gorgeous and leaves your hair ridiculously shiny and soft!

Treatments

♥ Indian Head Massages - Frequent head massages not only make you feel pmpered and revived, but they also stimulate hair growth by letting blood rush to the follicle. When I was a beauty student I used to beg the girls to give me Indian Head Massages as they are so relaxing and leave your hair pampered when done using aromatherapy oils. If you can't always afford to go to a salon to get it done (it can come up quite pricey), you can get your other half or one of your friends to do it for you. 

♥ 6-Weekly Hair Trims - Its a no-brainer that frequent trims at the hairdressers help make hair grow. They cut off split ends to make way for healthy growth, and although some salons can charge an absolute fortune, there are always model nights where you pay a fraction of the price by allowing a trainee to do the job for you. Not only that but you always come out with a new style feeling like a million dollars!

Other Tips & Tricks

As I said before, these suggestions are what works for me and my hair type. They will not neccesarily work as well for you and your hair, but I promise it's all worth a go! These are a few tips and tricks which I have found to be helpful along the way. 

♥  Use a soft hair tie to tie up your hair overnight. The hair won't drag and snap against your bed sheets, but don't tie up your hair too tightly. Loosley does it!

♥  When your hair is wet, use a wide toothed comb to untangle your hair. Using a brush will snap the ends.

♥  Pat your hair dry after washing it rather than scrunching it up and rubbing it against a tough towel. 

♥  Cut down on using heat appliances unless you have to! It's obvious that 200 degree straighteners do nothing but bad things to your hair.

♥  If you must use straighteners or a curling wand, then use a good heat protector. I love Trevor Sorbie's 'protect, flatten and shine spray', read my full review on it here. 

♥  Dry Shampoo is your friend, Over washing your hair strips it of its essential oils, so if your hair is looking a little flat and greasy, Batiste is the way forward. 

♥  Back combing is just as damaging to your hair as chemical treatments are. If like me you can't bare to have flat hair then take advantage of hair pieces or blow drying your hair upside down.

My Current Hair Care Routine

Hi Lovely Ladies! I'm really sorry I've been neglecting my blog lately. I haven't picked up any new products recently which have screamed 'Wow!' at me, and I've had (in the words of Carrie Bradshaw herself) a bit of writers block. But here I am, snuggled under my duvet with a hot chocolate (woops, diet!) on a rainy Friday afternoon putting together a new blog post. Apologies in advance, this post will be rather very long and on the picture heavy side!

I absolutely adore trying hair care products. My usual routine changes from time to time if I find something which makes my hair look and feel a little better than usual. I can honestly say I've tried everything from Poundland bargains to salon bought goodies and everything in between. I often get asked how I style and look after my hair, so I thought I'd tell you all at once exactly what I use and do. Since having my hair coloured from burgundy to brunette, the constant colour refreshing has become a little bit less of a nightmare. I went on the hunt to my local Boots to find a shampoo and conditioner specifically for brunette hair, as it adds subtle colour and brings out the undertones of brunette hair while adding a huge amount of gloss. 

Washing ♥

John Freida Brilliant Brunette Shampoo RRP £5.65 ♥

I came across John Frieda's 'Beautiful Brunette' range which a few of my friends have recommended in the past. The packaging makes it look and feel like you're using a product from the salon, but for only £5.65 each, only at a fraction of the price. The shampoo has a bit of a marble effect when you use it, which I seem to love the idea of. It smells absolutely gorgeous too, sort of sweet and floral. A little really does go a long way with it too, and a small palm full lathered up well enough to cover my entire head. My hair felt squeaky clean once I'd removed the product too.









John Freida Brilliant Brunette Conditioner RRP £5.65 ♥

Acts as the sister to the 'Brilliant Brunette' shampoo. There isn't a marble effect with this conditioner, but more of a thick brown cream effect. I cannot begin to tell you how amazing it smells too, very similar to the scent of the shampoo although definitely stronger. As with all conditioners, its essential you don't apply too much product, particularly to the roots of your hair, as your hair will look as though it hasn't been washed in a week. This restores shine and manageability, and realistically transforms the look of the mid-lengths and ends of your hair.









Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment RRP £7.99 ♥

This product is a definite must of mine. It's one of those products where you think 'does it really work?' 'is it a waste of money?' or 'it's too expensive'. But honestly, I don't know what I done without it! You apply the treatment inbetween shampoo and conditioner from root to tip and leave it to work its magic for 4 to 5 minutes. If you suffer with the whole booby length situation where it stops growing altogether, this is a product for you. After using it for two months or so, my hair has grown just under two inches. Hoorah! Two inches closer to not needing hair extensions. I have a full review of this product which you can read by clicking here. 

Clairol Colour Seal Conditioning Gloss RRP 99p ♥

These are the little tubes of conditioner you get when you buy a box dye, but they are now sold seperately in Superdrug, Boots and supermarkets. I personally don't use box dye to colour my hair anymore as my best friend is a hairdresser, but these little beauties are amazing. Once every two weeks I treat myself to a hair mask or an intensive conditioner to repair the look and feel of my hair. These tubes are the bees knees, and also come in shades suitable for blonde and red hair. They smell identical to John Freida's range, but the formula is alot thicker which means a lot less is needed. It adds a massive amount of shine, and there is a real difference in the look and feel of the hair.

Drying ♥

After washing my hair, I love a good old bouncy blow dry. It took me years of practice to be able to dry the back of my hair nicely, but I got there in the end. I think a fresh blow dry is key in getting a great finished result, and if you use the right products, can make you hair look even better than normal.

I have previously written about the above products on my blog and have raved about how great they are after washing your hair. I spray both the leave in conditioner along with the heat defence spray through my hair and use a wide toothed comb to remove any tangles and spread the product through my hair. It's important not to comb the coconut milk through your hair as you'll end up with very greasy hair, you only need it through the ends of your hair. Core Essentials Blow Dry Brush No. 109042 RRP £19.99 ♥
This brush works absolute wonders in getting that big, volumised finished blow dry. The barrel itself is so big, which in turn makes for bigger hair. It has air flow technology, which means the air is able to get through the brush, resulting in hair being dried quicker. The bristles grip the hair and there are no wispy bits lying around (TIP: the bristles are very prickly so be careful not to grip them to much. They will hurt). I section my hair 4 times, but that's only personal preference, so may not be the look you want to achieve yourself. 

TreSemme Salon AC Dryer RRP £21.99 ♥
I've mentioned in the past that I really like TreSemme products, although some hairdressers do say to stay away from it. The hairdryer is great, and does nothing more or less that your standard Argos one. It comes boxed with a removable diffuser and air flow attachable too which I would recommend using when blow drying hair. It aims the air flow from the dryer itself in the direction you want. I'vegone through countless hair dryers in my time, and have had this for well over one year now, so far there have been so sparks, no sizzling sounds and no burning smells. Winning. 

Styling ♥

This is by far my favourite part of my haircare routine. I love being able to mix up my hairstyle to my mood, whether it's long and straight, big bouncy curls or up in a bouncy ponytail. From day to day, I tend to wear my hair down and straight with a bit of backcombing at the crown but if it's a special occasion or I fancy a bit of a change, I go all out.

Foxy Locks Hair Extensions RRP £74.00 ♥
I cannot rate these hair extensions highly enough. I use the Deluxe range, which means the hair is extremely thick, soft and double wefted. I much prefer clip in hair extension to bonded ones. Yes, they are a pain to put in and take out everyday, but your hair will thank you for it. My only slight criticism is the fact that they are only stocked in 20" which isn't great if you want very long hair. They come down to about 4 inches from the waist, and providing you look after them properly, will last you ages. I'm going to write an updated blog post where I will go into more detail on these so look out for that!

Babyliss Pro Large Barrel Tong RRP £19.99 ♥
I've been using GHD hair straighteners for years now, and I've never looked back. They really are a godsend and I adore them. I've had my second pair for three years now and although they have a six year guarantee I'm looking to replace them at Christmas. They heat up within seconds up to 230 degrees (so be careful. I can't count how many times I've clamped my fingers inbetween them!) so straightening or curling your hair takes no time at all.  I picked up the Babyliss curling wand a few months ago as I felt I wanted bigger bouncier curls than what you get when using a straightening iron. Again, it does get extremely hot so please don't touch that barrel!

Schwarzkopf Silhouette Hairspray RRP £4.99 ♥
By far the best hairspray I've come across. It holds my style all day and it doesn't leave that dreaded crispy feel on parts of your hair. It also contains shine technology so by this point, your hair looks extremely glossy and rich. If I'm backcombing my hair then a little spritz of this stuff at the roots is a godsend. It keeps wispy bits at bay, and most importantly keeps my fringe in place.

Denman D3 Classic Styler Brush RRP £4.99 ♥
Finally. I have to stress that this brush is the most amazing hair product I've ever come across. Denman have some great products, and this brush is by far the best. The brush makes backcombing effortless, and it grips onto the hair with ease. It does have a tendancy to pick up hair it it's track, but hey what brush doesn't? If I could have one product to last me forever it would without a doubt be this. 

Sleep Rollers - Goodbye Sleepless Nights, Hello Great Hair

Hi Girls! So this post is way overdue, as I've been using the infamous Sleep Rollers for quite some time now. If like me you are a massive fan of big bouncy Cheryl Cole-esque hair which looks fresh from the salon then these answer all of your problems, and wait for the best bit; while you sleep! I first saw and heard about the Sleep In Rollers when I was watching Desperate Scousewives on E4 just before Christmas. I had a huge hair crush on Amanda Harrington and Debbie O'Toole who's hair was just to die for. It had length, volume and the perfect amount of bounce which were achieved using just basic velcro rollers. I'd also seen so many celebrities rocking the same type of rollers including Amy Childs, Tamara Ecclestone (who I have a big girl crush on) and Alex Curran. I took to Twitter to ask around about which brand they all used and it turned out they used Sleep Rollers, a company based in Liverpool which sell the ultimate range of hair accessories. They stock absolutely massive bun rings (I think around 10cm wide which is amazing), bun plaits, rollers, and they've just bought out rollers which have glitter inside the actual roller. I am in hair heaven! I'll be reviewing these quite thoroughly as I don't find that many people do so get comfy!

I done my research before I bought these little beauties as I wanted to see what other girls just like me thought about them. It turned out that these (obviously by the name, duh) that they were rollers which done their job while you slept. What an amazing idea! I remember the days I used to be a slave to hard velcro rollers and sleep in them, wondering why I had a sore head and neck the morning after. Sleep Rollers are designed with a small sponge in the centre of the velcro roller, which flatten as you head is on the pillow. They are designed to be comfortable and stay in place all night. I was slightly apprehensive about this but make my order and waited eagerly for them to arrive. I paid £16.50 and bought them from the online retailer (buy them here). I believe they were on offer at the time I purchased them so I'm not quite sure of the price now, I think they're roughly £20.00.  While I was on the site I also made a cheeky purchase of the XL bun ring and a bun plait too (ooh ow naughty of me). I received my rollers in 4 days which was pretty standard for any type of delivery. 

The packaging is so sweet and pretty, everything is pink which is massive bonus if you are a girly girl like myself. It came in a medium sized pink drawstring bag which is made of quite sturdy material and has rose detailing around the top of the bag. They are the original sleep rollers as so many companies have copped onto the idea of them (cough cough Lauren Goodger I'm looking at you!) and so have the company logo on the bag with the usual "Goodbye Sleepless Nights Hello Great Hair!!!" slogan slapped across the front. I opened the bag and squealed with delight. The rollers are the brightest pink colour ever and I just love that you can still look great even when you have them in. 2 packs were inside each containing 10 rollers each (you do the maths) which would be enough to cover my whole head. If you have extra long or thick hair, you may need to invest in an extra pack of 10, they sell them on the website for £8.99 and it saves so much hassle trying to squeeze just 20 into your hair. 

When it came to about 8pm I decided to start my venture into the world of Sleep Rollers. I had a programme to watch at 9 so I'd have enough time to get the hang of things. So I washed and blow dried my hair as normal (read my review on my shampoo and conditioner here) and opened my packets of rollers with my kirby grips at the ready. As I'm quite experienced in the hair roller field I found them so easy to put in. I would suggest that practice definitely makes perfect as they take a while to get the hang of. I secured them with kirby grips in places I needed to. I quite like the natural body look so I left a few out, my hair was still warm from the blow dry which meant the rollers would set more nicely. After putting my head of rollers in which took no more than 15 minutes, I settled in to bed to watch my programme and was a bit apprehensive to sleep on them.

Bedtime came around so I pulled my duvet over and tried to get comfortable. As I'm always honest when I review a product, I will tell you that these still aren't ultra comfortable. I did find them quite annoying after moving my head position roughly 20 times, but settled down on my side in the end. I didn't have a bad sleep like some people claim they do and woke up i the morning, granted the tops of my ears were a little sore. I was so surprised that they'd stayed in place all night and hadn't moved at all. I started taking them out individually although they were a little tangled and I absolutely loved the effect it had on my hair. It was big, bouncy and rather than a defined curl which I think can only be achieved with a wand or tong, there was a nice wave to it. I don't have a photograph to show the effect that first morning as I was very late for work but the one below shows them after I'd used them for about a month (sorry for the awful picture quality) and got to know them quite well. I think it looks glam, classy and so natural. You don't always need heat to make your hair look great which to me is a huge added bonus. Some girls with shorter hair may not like these as there is no length to it without the use of clip in hair extensions. Instead of putting them into my actual hair I sometimes roll my extensions flat on a table, spray them with hairspray and leave the to set overnight. Providing the extension is of good quality and have been shampooed and conditioned, the effect as just the same as what is achieved on the natural hair. You then simply unroll the extensions and clip them in.

So what's so good about them? They are made for sleeping in, so there isn't too much discomfort which hard rollers supply you with (how nice of them). They moulded nicely into the shape of my hair as I slept without taking the effect of the bounce away too as they don't have metal or plastic in them. This means heat can be applied for the rollers to take full effect, depending on the type of look you're after. They stay secure all night and don't roll out overnight. This may be down to the amount of velcro on the actual roller and the kirby grips but I find they don't budge whatsoever. They're cheap for the amount of hair tool you receive and last a lifetime. After using mine so often the quality hasn't dropped and none have been broken or damaged. The bag which comes with the rollers is so compact and ideal for slipping into your suitcase, I've taken mine on some weekends away and the drawstring bag is ideal. As they flatten there's peace of mind knowing that's exactly what they are designed to do. Last but not least, the finished result. I absolutely love the effect Sleep Rollers have on my hair. They leave a gorgeous Victoria's Secret-esque style on my hair. I don't want to blow my own trumpet but they really do make my hair look salon fresh every morning. It gave my normally straight hair volume, body and wave without using heat.

Trevor Sorbie Beautifully Straightened Hair Goodies

Hello Everyone! So the Olympics are over. Half of me is so happy to finally have time to breathe after working at them, the other slightly disappointed that it's all over. The Closing Ceremony was absolutely amazing! I especially loved Fatboy Slim and of course The Spice Girls. I really thought they stole the show, and how fabulous did Victoria Beckham look? *girl crush alert*. So after two weeks of sport, I now have my life back and can sit here with my laptop and cup of tea and get back to blogging. It's taken me a while to really get stuck back in it but I can assure you I'm now here to stay. 

If you're a reader of my blog or just know me well enough, then you're bound to know that I'm absolutely obsessed with hair care. I love to try out new things all the time and the best feeling is when you find a product that makes your hair look amazing. I first came across Trevor Sorbie around three years back when I was watching Imogen from ImogenFoxyLocksExtensions on YouTube rave about how fantastic the heat defence spray was. I bought myself my first bottle from Boots for £5.10 and voila! I was in love. With my love of the spray came my love of all products in the 'Beautifully Straightened' range, and apart from my trusty James Brown 'Scandalous' shampoos and conditioners (read my review here) the Trevor Sorbie haircare products are most definitely my holy grail must-have hair care saviours. 

I was in my local Boots recently in the haircare section and just as I'd picked up some Trevor Sorbie heat defence spray, I noticed a big white cosmetic bag on the bottom shelf. To my surprise, it was filled with a selection of four different products from the Beautifully Straightened range, including the smoothing balm which is always sold out in the store near me. Not only was it filled with product, but I actually really liked the bag. I'm jetting off to Marbella in two weeks time, and it will be perfect to store all of my girly holiday essentials inside. The inside is silk with a cute floral vintage design fastening up all the pockets which equals extra storage (hooray! More room!). I paid only £19.99 for it which is a fantastic price for what you're actually receiving. Four full sized products which are great, plus a good sized pretty cosmetic bag. Result. 

Protection Shampoo - If like me your hair is a little worse for wear, then you need all the help you can get by using products which offer protection against heat and other nasty things that affects it growing healthily and strong. The fact it can start working wonders right from the minute you use the shampoo is a real weight off of my shoulders. I find that it lathers up like a dream, and a little goes a long way, even with thicker hair. 

Protection Conditioner - This has the same effect on the hair as the shampoo, only it adds moisture and repairs dead ends. To know that even before you use any type of heat defence that your hair is protected is a real godsend. I love the way that the protection conditioner adds shine to my hair too, and doesn't give it that awful slimy feeling when you wash it out. 

Protect, Flatten and Shine Spray - Definitely my ultimate Trevor Sorbie product. When I don't use a heat protection spray I can really tell the difference in the look and feel of my hair. I use it before blow drying, straightening, curling, waving, pretty much anything. I love the fact it tames frizzy hair and reduces the appearance of split ends too

Smoothing Balm - This is constantly sold out whenever I try to buy my own! I'd never really used any kind of serum in the past as I tend to find them a bit greasy and thick. But this smoothes my hair and leaves it with such a nice gloss which doesn't have too much a greasy feel to it.
