Hey dolls! Yep, I've only gone and bought more Lush goodies. I've well and truly caught the Lush bug recently, and I can't seem to stop buying bath bombs and skincare goodies. There's just something about it that gets me weak at the knees and I'm definitely like a kid in a sweet shop when it comes to choosing what to buy. I could happily spend all day in there having a play with all the samples and chatting with the lovely staff about all of the products! Up until now, I've seen Soap & Glory's 'Flake Away' as my go to body exfoliator but that's all changed now as I picked up 'Rub Rub Rub' - everything you could ask for when it comes to body scrubs. After the lovely staff scrubbed this stuff on the back of my hand it just had to be mine.

 It's definitely on the pricey side for such a small pot with a use by date, but I always find that if I spend a few extra pounds on an exfoliator it has good if not better results. What caught my eye was the electric blue colour it carries and the smell described as mimosa and orange flower blossom is to die for. The scent lingers on my skin throughout the entire day which of course is a huge bonus. Although it's quite a gritty body scrub it looks alot more watery at first glance, and there's no doubt always going to be some water residue lying ontop of the product inside the pot. Don't be put off - once it makes contact with the skin it gets to work really well, not to menti0n the salt in it's formula means it can be doubled up to use as a shampoo and shower gel too. How versatile!

I only wanted Rub Rub Rub to use as a body scrub, so the shop assistant gave me some good advice before I went ahead and bought the tub. She told me to apply it to clean but dry skin, as the salt in the ingredients would dissolve alot quicker and therefore you wouldn't be getting the best result. Don't get me wrong, it feels slightly uncomfortable to scrub and exfoliate on dry skin and your skin will be tomato red afterwards, but what it does to skin is just ah-mazing. I can honestly say I've never in my life tried a body scrub that has better results than this. It leaves my skin feeling ultra fresh and smooth, and there's no oil residue to help strengthen the feeling of smoothness. It's a lifesaver if you have stubborn dry skin around the knees or elbows as I have no flakey skin left over once I'm done.

So would I repurchase this? Yes, I definitely would. It's like heaven in a jar and I've happily replaced my trusty Soap & Glory Flake Away with this little beaut. Once again Lush have made a product which hasn't failed to disappoint me in the slightest, and I'll be slightly gutted once I come to the end of my tub.

March Favourites

Hello dolls! I hope you all had an amazing Easter - I definitely ate and drunk my body weight in food and wine over the weekend so I'm straight back into the gym this week. I find it slightly odd to be writing up my March favourites at the moment; this year is going by so quickly and were already into the fourth month of the year. It feels like only yesterday I was writing my February favourites, but I've been loving a few products this month that I felt I just had to share them with you all. 

I used to use the Liz Earle 'Cleanse & Polish' religiously, but the steep price tag meant it wasn't easy on my bank balance when it came to repurchasing it. I've since rediscovered this little gem, and I would definitely pin it down as a holy grail cleanser. It's the creamiest formula imaginable, and softens/cleans my skin beyond belief. I've also been taking full advantage of the Boots 3 for 2 offer and although I'm besotted with the infamous Lasting Perfection concealer by Collection 2000, I thought it was time to dip my toes into the world of concealer and try something new. I picked up the Maybelline Dream Lumi, a highlighting concealer which is a godsend when it comes to contour and highlighting. It's a lovely texture and I don't find it to be cakey or crease throughout the day either. I've also been using fake tan alot more often recently as I picked up loads at the Professional Beauty exhibition last month. I'm definitely more a mousse person when it comes to tanning, and I'm not exaggerating when I say this dries almost instantly - no more waiting around awkwardly waiting to dry! It's not orange at all and it's streak free meaning you'll look like you've been in the Bahamas and not the Sugar Hut. 

Probably my favourite product throughout the entire month or even the year so far is the YSL Rogue Volupte lipstick. I finally got one after being put off by the £25 price tag, and I'm so glad I did. It takes luxury to a new level and is the best formula of lipstick I've ever tried. Unfortunately I've pushed all my trusty MACs to one side to make room for this, but for the product quality and beautiful packaging there's no turning back for me! Along with using fake tan alot more often I also needed to invest in a heavy duty body scrub. I discovered Lush's Rub Rub Rub at the beginning of the month and have been obsessed ever since. I don't want to say too much about it as I have a full review planned in the next few days, but until then you must know that you need it in your life. I've also been absolutely loving Sleek's Face Contour kit. A double panned contour and highlight duo which compliments most peoples skin tone without looking too 'done'. Both powders are silky soft to the touch and hollow out my cheekbones nicely without looking un-natural. You can tailor exactly how you wish your contour to look, it's buildable and the mocha/vanilla colour combination is to die for.

Hello lovely ladies! I hope you're all well and are enjoying the feeling of a brand new fresh week. I promised I'd got my blogging mojo back after lacking in posts recently, so I'm back with a review of something I've been absolutely loving lately. For some reason, I've become quite attached to Lush products recently. There's just something about them which really lifts my mood and make pamper evenings that bit more relaxing and girly. As I'm sure some of you also know, I love nothing better than a good face mask and have bought quite the collection over the past few weeks, one of my favourites being Lush's 'Oatifix'. 

Now if you're a regular reader of my blog then you'll know I'm an absolute sucker for anything with a shea butter/almond/honey/oat scent. I have no idea why, but anything which smells nutty and sweet is an absolute winner in my books! Products with ingredients like this in them tend to be for more dry skin, and although I have an oily skin type I couldn't resist picking this up. With the weather being ridiculously cold recently, I felt that my skin needed a bit more 'oomph' in terms of moisture to restore hydration, so was in search of some great new products to do just that (I've been loving the Botanics Facial Oil too, read my post here). I was tempted to pick up my beloved 'Cupcake' face mask, but after smelling this and have the lovely shop assistant apply it to the back of my hand it had to be mine. The same guidelines with all of Lush's products apply; you still need to keep it in the fridge and it still has a use by date. 

Oatifix is a blend of crushed bananas, ground almonds, oats and honey so as you can imagine works absolute wonders on dry and sensitive skin. It's a really thick formula, but at the same time really nice to apply. It doesn't apply in chunks, instead in glides onto the skin with ease without any product drop off. Other than smelling like absolute heaven, it deeply moisturises pores and eliminates flaky skin after only one use. After I leave it on for a good 10 or 15 minutes, I don't find that my face feels waxy or slippery, just really hydrated and extra soft. As you remove it, it also doubles up as an exfoliator because of the ground oats in the formula, so no more mixing two products for a decent home facial!  

Lush Haul | Skincare & Bath Bombs

Hey Dolls! Just like most other beauty fanatics, I can't get enough of Lush products. I can't think of one product I've tried and haven't loved, and it's an absolute bonus that they're made with 100% natural ingredients and aren't tested on animals. I was out shopping yesterday (shock horror) when the familiar scent of a Lush store came my way and I gave in. With the intention of only having a look around I didn't expect to come out with a full bag of products but hey, you can never go wrong with a Lush haul! Since having my face mapped by Dermalogica at the beginning of the week, it dawned on me that I needed a whole bunch of new skincare products and I thought what better place to start than at Lush?! Of course I sneaked a few cheeky bath bombs in there too because what trip would be complete without them?

Not only do I love the products from Lush but the staff in there are so lovely and helpful. They never pressure you into buying things and are always willing to answer any questions you have. For what they are, I think Lush have very reasonable prices. I picked all of this up for under £25, and I also found out about the '5 clean pot free face mask' offer which means I'll be back down there in no time as I have countless empty pots of product. As you may know if you read my blog, I'm very much into my skincare. I have so many products I don't know why I even picked up more to add to my collection. Skincare wise, I picked up the 'Cupcake', 'Oatfix' and 'Mask of Magnaminty' fresh face masks, the 'Tea tree Water' toner and the 'Grease Lightening' spot treatment. Both the 'Cupcake' and 'Mask of Magnaminty' face masks are re-purchases for me. I absolutely swear by them for keeping oily skin and blemishes at bay, and I religiously stock up whenever I run out or they pass their sell by date. I picked up the 'Tea Tree Water' after hearing about its antibacterial properties and its ability to eliminate oil around the T-Zone, and the 'Grease Lightning' spot treatment after hearing so many great things about it. As I mentioned previously, the staff in Lush are so unbelievably helpful. The woman in there told me that 'Grease Lightning' can also be used as a serum after cleansing and before moisturising. I've never included a serum in my skincare routine so this is definitely something I'll be getting back to you lovely lot about. Luckily I have pretty good skin but do get the occasional spot, so I'm almost excited for this to happen (dare I say it) to give this a bash. 

Who can resist a bit of Lush pampering at bath time? I've raved about how much I love their 'Sex Bomb' but I felt I needed to branch out a little more and try something different. Being faced with such an array of options, I was stuck for choice but eventually I went for 'The Comforter', 'Melting Marshmallow Moment' and the cheap as chips 'Ickle Baby Bot'. All of these carry the most amazing scents, and you really get your moneys worth as they've all been designed to break apart which means more bath bomb bubble baths! I particularly love the marshmallow one as the scent is absolutely to die for but am looking forward to giving the other two a go. Recently I've been suffering with sleepless nights, so I'm hoping the camomile in 'Ickle Baby Bot' can help me out. As for The Comforter', it's something very popular among the blogging community so I'm hoping it lives up to its expectations! As always, if anything impresses me I'll write a review in full. I can't get enough of Lush and I definitely feel another haul coming on soon as I spied alot of products I simply must try. What are your favourite Lush products?

Pamper Night In | The Essentials

Hello Girls! Hope you're all well. I keep seeing photo's on my Instagram (@misskendalwestonx) of other beauty bloggers pamper essentials, neatly stacked next to their bath tubs waiting to be used. I thought I may aswell turn my own into a blog post, as I religiously have a 'pamper night' on Fridays as I prepare for the weekend ahead. I think it's so important to take time out for yourself and just relax after a long week because otherwise there's no time to appreciate the little things. I apologise in advance for such a lengthy post! I always start with a really hot bubble bath and can sit there for up to 2 hours. It really is bliss, spending half of my time in there pampering myself beyond belief, and the other half dozing off.

I start off by pouring a rather generous amount of Soap & Glory's 'Calm One, Calm All' bubble bath into my bath water, and also, if I'm feeling particularly run down, I'll also chuck a Lush bath bomb in also. My favourite is 'Sex Bomb'; it contains sage, jasmine and ylang ylang which as you can imagine, leaves my bathroom smelling amazing, not to mention leaves the water a beautiful shade of pink too. A pamper night for me isn't complete if I don't have one of my Yankee Candles burming either! Cinnamon and Vanilla Cupcake are my all time favourites! I use my Soap & Glory 'Whipped Clean' shower butter to wash with and just sit there letting the bubble bath and bath bomb work wonders on my skin. I also like to pamper my hair every week by giving it a treat of a hair mask or ultra moisturising conditioner. I start by doing the usual routine I use which is using Aussie's 'Miracle Moist' as a shampoo, followed by my trusty Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment, then followed by Aussie's Miracle Moist conditioner. If you haven't tried this line from Aussie, I seriously can't recommend them highly enough. They works absolute wonders on dry and damaged hair and they smell like bubblegum which is such a nice touch. I'm also a massive fan of the 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor but if I sat and typed my love for it, we really would be here all day. Although I hate the fake tanning process with a real passion, I don't find it a drag to exfoliate as I'm so in love with my Soap & Glory 'Sugar Crush' body scrub. I must admit I'm not that much of a fan of the scent - don't get me wrong, I do like it but it's a bit too limey for me! That's not to say it doesn't leave my skin feeling silky soft after I use it! I then slather The Body Shop's 'Almond Body Butter' or Soap & Glory's 'The Righteous Butter' over my skin which is probably the reason I can't stop sniffing my skin after a pamper evening! Both of them smell absolutely amazing and are ultra moisturising. So moisturising in fact that I can still feel it on my skin the morning after. Nothing beats that feeling you have when you jump out of the bath into fresh cosy pyjamas! It really is amazing. Once I get out of my bubble bath, I blow dry my hair and put my SleepRollers in to achieve extra volume in my hair.

I also make sure I take the time out to pamper my skin a little. I'm quite lucky in the fact that I had relatively good skin, but I still like to do the whole shabang (if you know what I mean). I start by cleansing my face as normal using Soap & Glory's 'Peaches and Clean' - those who have tried and tested this will know just how amazing it really is. It's come to be one of my favourites ever, and melts away dirt and make up with ease, not to mention it also has the most gorgeous scent ever. I then somtimes use my Remington face steamer and sit and steam my face for a good ten or twenty minutes. I love how fresh my face feels after I use it, and it brings all impurities to the surface of the skin. Then, I use Soap & Glory's (yes, another Soap and Glory product!) 'Greatest Scrub Of All' as an exfoliator, which is a relatively new purchase. I really like it as it isn't too gritty and has a really clever formula where the micro beads in the cream pop open when you apply it to the heat of your skin. I really feel it work into my pores and it leaves me with a nice fresh layer of skin. That sounds really awful! After that I then use a face mask. I have a few favourites, but at the moment I'm bouncing between Lush's 'Cupcake' and the 'Mask of Magnaminty'. Both do absolute wonders for my skin and they're such a pleasure to use knowing that all of the ingredients are natural. I then go ahead and tweeze any stray eyebrow hairs and paint my nails whichever colour I fancy. And if that already isn't enough I slather on Soap & Glory's 'Heel Genius' over my toes and pull on a pair of thick cotton socks to help it soak in.

To help me relax even more, I'll spend the rest of my evening watching a few chick flicks or catching up on soaps, tucked up in bed (yes, on a Friday night) with a big mug of hot chocolate. My favourite chick flicks to watch, not that it's particularly beauty related, are Pretty Woman, Sex and the City, the boxset of Absolutely Fabulous and Bridget Jones. If I'm feeling brave I'll watch the Scream films back to back or some other horror film which will keep me up all night. As many of you know I'm currently on a diet and am fast approaching loosing my first stone already. I make sure that I allow myself one treat meal a week, and this is usually eaten on a Friday or Saturday night. This is the perfect way to round off my pamper night in! Once again, I'm sorry for such a lenghty post. But I would love to see what everyone else does or uses during their pamper sessions!

Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask

Most of you girls will know that I love nothing than a bit of girly 'me time' pampering, and Friday nights consist of me preparing for the weekend and having a good old pamper with a very hot bubble bath. A face mask is compulsory f0r me and I've tried everything from Superdrug sachets  to Dr Nicks jars. One product I find that I keep coming back to when I stop by a Lush is the Cupcake fresh face mask. I've used this for as long as I can remember, my memory goes as far back as when my mum and I went to Edinburgh for a weekend when I was about 10 and she bought loads of goodies for us to try that night in the hotel room. One of those products was this little beaut, and ever since then it's always been a firm favourite of mine. I picked this up from the Croydon branch of Lush when I went to try and grab a popcorn lip scrub but unfortunately they had none in stock as the festive period is over which makes me quite sad. All over for another year I suppose!

As with all Lush products, this is freshly made using natural ingredients and therefore has a use by date. I've had the pleasure of using this for a few years, but by the pot I only have around two weeks. I always feel a little upset when I start to scrape the barrel as it means I have to schedule a trip to Westfield to stock up on all of my favourites. I think that £5.25 is a very reasonable price for such a great product which I can use up to three times, maybe even four. As with all Lush products, the packaging is pretty standard; just your bob basic black pot with white chalk effect writing. But as with all products, it's what's on the inside that counts. My boyfriend has actually made a few comments about this stinking to high heavens but I absolutely adore the smell. Granted it doesn't smell like your typical bar of Dairy Milk, but I would describe the smell as a stronger cocoa butter smell. It's a very thick and creamy consistency which of course applies to my face like a dream, and dries almost in seconds into a clay/mud based product. I definitely notice a difference in the appearance in my skin after I use this. My usual oily T-Zone is calmed down to a slight 'shimmer' rather than an oil slick, and I can't begin to explain how soft it leaves my skin. Because it's a natural product, you can use it more regularly. There is a time limit on all Lush products, and I think I have another week or so to finish my pot off. Out of every pot I'd say you could get about 4 uses, so that means two face masks a week!

January Wishlist

Hello :) Hope you're all great and you're well into your New Years resolutions (read my post here on all of my resolutions). One of mine was to loose a total of two stone within the year and I already have an update for you which I can hardly believe myself. Within one week of my diet and exercise regime I have lost seven pounds, the equivalent to half a stone. I really cannot believe it and I weighed myself three times just to be sure! I was thinking of doing a full post on my diet and fitness as at this time of year it's very fitting, so if you're interested then let me know by commenting below. In the meantime, darker evenings mean no time to take decent blog photos with decent lighting, so I've put together a list of things I'm currently lusting over!

1. Muji Acrylic Storage Drawers

I'm probably one of the last bloggers to have purchased these! Well, it certainly feels like it. I am beyond excited for mine to arrive so I can organise all of my make-up bits and I've also ordered the matching acrylic pen pot to store all of my make-up brushes next to the drawers. 

2. Lush Cupcake Face Mask

Another popular item among the blogging community! I've used this in the past and I absolutely loved it, of course the smell was amazing. I really love a bit of pamper time and this would be perfect to apply when I sit back in a bath of bubbles to relax.

3. Soap & Glory Hocus Pocus 

I won't ramble on about how much I'm loving S&G products at the moment, but to complete my skincare collection I need this lotion! It's sold out in the smaller Boots near my house so I'm off to the larger one tomorrow to pick one up. I've used this in the past and loved it!

4. Leopard Print Tangle Teezer

I've committed the ultimate crime and lost my beloved pink tangle teezer! Majorly gutted. But on the bright side, it gives me an excuse to go and buy a brand new one but instead of pink I've been eyeing up this cute leopard print one.

5. Real Techniques Powder Brush

Another Real Techniques brush I need to add to my collection! I use powder everyday to set my foundation so it makes sense to invest in a good brush a lot of bloggers swear by. I'm in love with my stippling brush so hope this is just as good.

6. MAC Mineralise Skin Finish Powder

I may shock a few of you here, but I've never tried a skin finish product from MAC! I rely on my trusty Rimmel 'Stay Matte' powder but am always open to try new things, hence I'm off to pick this beauty up on the weekend!

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

I've finally jumped on the bandwagon! No, not the Fifty Shades Of Grey one (although I do admit I'm reading it) but the Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub. I've read countless blog posts about this product, so took myself to Lush in Westfield London and got myself a jar. I've used this twice now and I'm absolutely besotted with it! I originally went in to grab a new jar of Cupcake face mask (smells delicious, will do a post soon on it) and saw this by the till so nabbed it for a bargain of £5.25. 

Lush products are 100% natural handmade products, so no nasty chemicals are added to their brand which I love the idea of. Everything smells absolutely amazing, from the bath bombs to the solid perfumes...have you ever walked past a Lush store and just smelt how beautiful it is?! I love it!


Now I can't even begin to explain just how the Bubblegum lip scrub smells. Of course it smells of strawberry bubblegum, but really strong. Some places which sell scented products only ever have a faint sort of smell which is gone within half an hour but this is the complete opposite. It not only leaves your lips smelling gorgeous, but also tastes amazing. The best part of it is that it's edible, so you're able to lick it off your lips before you apply lipstick or whatever takes your fancy.

I use my index finger to scoop out a small amount (I don't want it to end!) and gently rub it over my lips. I really feel it working as I get a slight tingling feeling afterwards and I'm left with the softest lips ever. Forget your Vaseline, this is definitely a go-to product when it comes to taking care of your lips.


This product gets the definite thumbs up from me, and I'm definitely going to repurchase it in the future. For a mere £5.25 you can't go wrong.
